小昇游馬記 - 國慶日 Jesson’s trip to Malaysia - Merdeka Day

So, the part in Kuantan is supposed to be written by Jesson himself. Coz I was not really in any part of it. I have to work. @@" So, Last year Merdeka eve was the day we traveled back to KL. He was leaving on the 31st Aug. Well, I actually planned to bring him to have a look at the one and only Casino we have in Malaysia. So, here we go...

小昇關丹之行, 這個部分呢? 小昇跟我說要自己寫... 也對嘛, 因為我都沒有啥參與... 在關丹的日子,他都是由美女團負責的. @@" 就在國慶日前夕,我們倆繼續未完的旅程. 因為第二天, 就是小昇回香港的日子了. 我決定帶他參觀一下我國唯一的合法賭場...



I didn't really wanna drive all the way up hill. So, I actually parked at the cable car station. We to the sky way cable car to the highlands. This is something new for Jesson too.

我也沒開車直衝山頂, 因為畢竟人老了. @@" 所以, 把車子停放在山腳下的纜車中心. 我們乘搭纜車攻頂去. 他們香港的纜車可跟我們這裡的不一樣喔.



Started to see the cloud and fog around us. This was a shot taken from the cable car.

開始有一點"雲頂"的感覺了...



So, here we were at the end of the cable car ride. Look at him, safe and sound ^^"

安全抵步, 雖然看起來搖搖晃晃. 可是, 乘搭纜車還是最安全登山的方法之一. ^^"



That was a very foggy day. We walked around the theme park and took some pictures. He was a bit boring coz he is still underage. =,=" I can only show him the entrance of the casino. @@"

那一天, 雲頂高原真的很"雲頂" @@" 我們到處逛了一遍. 的確, 有點悶... 因為小昇還沒到合法年齡, 所以是無法進入賭場的. =,=" 我只帶他去參觀了賭場入口. @@"



In the end, we were too boring... So, we went to Mc Donald's to let him have a bite at Malaysia's version of Mc D's burgers. So, his reaction was: " so few choices only ar?" @@"
After the so called "burger" break... we headed back down to the cable car centre. I like this photo, it really gives me a feeling of we are at the top of the world. ^^"

最後, 我們真的是太悶了. 只好跑去麥記讓他試試看本地的麥記漢堡包. 去到那裡, 他的反應就是, 怎麼那麼少選擇阿? @@"
吃飽後, 也真的沒啥活動了. 唯有下山嚕... 特別喜歡這張照片. 給人一種天上人間的感覺. ^^"

太陽是圓形的 - 大家都聽說過吧... 親眼見過的大概不是每一個人吧. 所以把這張拍了下來, 向大家證明太陽是圓形的. =,="



After that, we traveled all the way to Damansara Perdana to check into our hotel. The room was nothing much special. So, no pictures at all. And nothing much to describe about this hotel coz 2 guys staying in the same room... Not much story to tell either. =,=" We went to The Curve to have dinner there. There were a lot of stalls out there. Didn't know they have that even in the night. @@"

繼續我們的旅程, 總算來到了我們下榻的酒店. 放下了行李, 休息了一會兒. 我們就前往The Curve去吃晚餐. 看到晚間還有許多小販擺攤子... @@"



We had our dinner at the Tony Roma's. They served one of the best ribs I had ever tasted. The picture above is roast chicken ordered by Jesson. Don't know how was that. This is what I had ordered. Juicy boneless ribs served with mashed potatoes... It was really good. I finished everything. Yummy!!! By the way, I selected the boneless 1 coz I was too lazy to use my hands that night. Coz I was taking pictures most of the time. I don't want to have those oily fingers on my DSLR =,="

我點了去了骨的烤排骨 =,=" 為啥? 懶惰用手吃咩... 因為一直都在拍照... 不想用那油油的手指按快門. @@" 不過, 真的好吃 ^^" 香甜多汁, 彈性十足, 而且佐菜中的馬鈴薯泥也很好吃 ^^" 絕對會推薦這道料理.



After dinner, we went for a little walk arond the block. Saw all these people gathering down there. They were spraying all those foam to each other. Nowdays, these are the activities to do to celebrate our national day. =,=" Kind of fun for watching from far away. If you ask me to go down there to be part of it... Thank you, thank you and thank you again. I rather stay up here. ^^"

吃飽後, 我們到處晃. 然後從樓上的行人天橋往下一看. 看到了人山人海... 而且一堆人在那裡拿著噴霧劑亂噴... 如今, 這就是我們慶祝國慶日的方式嗎? @@" 小狐真的老了... 從這裡看下去, 真的好像很好玩. 但是, 如果叫小狐拿這副老骨頭下去跟他們一起"慶祝"? 謝謝... 小狐寧願在這裡當個旁觀者. ^^"



Well, actually everyone was waiting for the fireworks show. It was worth waiting though... Jesson's first time of watching this live. The whole time, he was just kept on saying: "Wah~ Wow~ Wo~" =,="

接下來的壓軸節目自然是午夜的煙花表演... 如此的近距離看煙花, 小昇是第一次看. @@" 他說通常都在家裡看電視的. =,=" 他的反應由開始到完畢 - "哇~ 嘩~" 個沒完沒了... @@"

Memories...

I am still recovering from the pain deep in side my heart. I recieved the news on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday morning the first thing I did was rushed back to office. Told my boss I am going on leave for 2 days due to this. Right after I got his approval, I sent my car for maintenance. Right after it was fixed, I packed my stuff and drove all the way to KL. I had to be there to see her at least one last time. But, deep in my heart I was still hoping this is not real.

I finally made it at KL around 8pm, after a quick dinner with my cousin. I contacted Siew Moi who actually brought me to the Nirvana Memorial Park. I need her to bring me there. I don't know the way. =,=" Thank you Siew Moi for being so helpful, I couldn't have made it without your help.

I was there paying my final respect to my dearest cyber sister. That is the moment that I finally accepted she has left. Looking at her, lying in the coffin, quietly... I held those tears in my eyes. I do not want to cry in front of her.

I met up with her family, her bf. We talked about her and those moments we had together. They told me about the illness she had been suffering since she was 3 months old...

Thalassemia - is an inherited autosomal recessive blood disease. In thalassemia, the genetic defect results in reduced rate of synthesis of one of the globin chains that make up hemoglobin. Reduced synthesis of one of the globin chains can cause the formation of abnormal hemoglobin molecules, and this in turn causes the anemia which is the characteristic presenting symptom of the thalassemias.

According to them, she was really lucky to have survived all these years. I searched my memories and found nothing at all. She had kept this as a little secret fir herself. Without letting any of her friends know. She was so thoughtful... She knew that we will be worry about her after knowing all these. None of her friend, including me as her "Kai Kor" didn't even know about this.

A petite girl nearing the Big 3 0 a girl who love her life a girl who treasure her life (very much) a girl who love her shoes (it's never enough) a girl who work hard and play harder (always) a girl who love to travel and shop (which girl doesn't) a girl who love cooking and eating .... and the list goes on and on ..... <-- This is how she had described herself in her blog. What I can tell you about her is that she is really the way she had described herself.

Still, I am feeling sad. But, I never regreted having her as one of my closest friends. Everytime I went to Kl. She was always on the top of my contact list. No matter what activiy we were together, it was always a great pleasure. I miss her... And she will be in my heart forever. Someone that I will never forget - Olivia Chong (1979 - 2009). Cheers... my dearest sis, here are your favourite drinks.

In memory of Olivia Chong

Olivia... Can't really remember how long we knew each other... It was in tarc channel in MIRC chatting room. It was like we spoke to each other using plain text for a few times... And yet, for the passed 12 years, she was my only cyber sis that I always meet up from time to time. And as we got to know each other better, we found so much in common between both of us.

We went through a lot of good times and bad times together. I last spoke to her over the phone 2 weeks ago, and I met her on msn about 3-4 days back we were still talking about my trip to KL next month.... I can't stop thinking about her, she was really a lovely girl. To me, she is really like a family member. Whenever I had the chance to goto KL, we will meet up for a tea, a meal or even a few beers. We both had so much in common, we enjoyed the same food, drinks, movies, music, and even using the same model of handphone without knowing each other is actually using that one already.

Today afternoon, her bf sms me about this. I was in shock... I went knocked out for a moment... Was that a joke? It can't be, it's not 1st of April, I double checked my handphone and watch to make sure I was reading it right. I was working, it was like everything had just stopped. I just couldn't think properly. I rushed out from 1 of my outlet and went into my van. I called her number. Steve(her bf) picked up... In my mind, there is a voice saying this is not right, no no no...

After a short talk, I knew I have to face it. I feel sad, yes I am... I continued working til just now. And now I am still looking at her pictures, I had to admit that this is the first time ever I had actually feel the pain, the sadness within...

Dear sis, I really miss you. And I always will. I missed those good time we had together. I missed the feeling of calling you up and talking over the phone. I missed those moments we went for movies together, moments we went for good food, moments we went for a good cup of coffee or tea, moments we went for good parties. I really wish if there is a second life, let's be brother and sister again. I hope perhaps when it is my time, I will see you again...

小昇游馬記 - 樂浪島 Jesson’s trip to Malaysia - Redang Island

Ealy in the morning, we worked very very hard to wake ourselves up... Headed out for breakfast... I brought Jesson to try out one of our specialties in Terengganu. I was still very blur... =,="

一覺醒來... 還在迷糊之中, 把小昇叫醒. 洗刷後, 帶他去吃本地的特餐 =,="

The "roti paong" <-- I don't really know how is it spelled, but I had been pronouning it that way refering to that little bun I was holding in my hand. It came in 4 pieces for a set, served with local home made kaya and butter. All you have to do is just wipe either one of those on to the hot and tasty buns... Anyway, he liked it ^^"

著名的小麵包 ^^" 大家吃過的話應該忘不了... 熱烘烘, 香甜可口的小麵包配上店家特製的咖椰漿或是普通的牛油... 都讓人讚不絕口 ^^" 當然, 我們家小昇也吃個不亦樂乎

I also ordered this for him to tryout 1 of Malaysian's favourite breakfast - half boiled eggs. He said it's kind of weird =,="

我也沒忘記讓他試試看本地人常吃的早點之一, 半生熟蛋. 他的反應? 他說怪怪的... =,="



We can't stay long, coz we had a boat to catch. Right after the meal, we rushed all the way to Merang Jetty. That's the place where we can get the boat to Redang Island.

吃飽後, 真的也沒啥時間了. 馬上開車前往墨浪碼頭.

After all the registration etc... we finally started our journey. Great view~ isn't it?

報到後, 等了一會兒就是上船, 開船... 特地跑到船尾, 漂亮吧? ^^"

船頭一顧, 碧海藍天... 對了, 大家如果有興趣知道我們住的度假村請按Redang Bay Resort

The boat ride took us around 30-40 mins, upon arrival we are requied to listen to some simple briefings. Stuff like don't step on corals, don't steal anything from the seabed etc... After dumping all our stuff in the room. I brought him de-tour the island ^^" White sands, blue sky, great ocean... Jesson was like: "Wow~ That's great~ Aw~ Beautiful~ My God~ This is great~ Wow~ Perfect~" <--- and it went on and on.... OK? Trust me, this is the first time ever he actually stepped into a place like this. ^^"

船程大約30-40分鐘, 抵步後就是度假村工作人員的一些"訓話" =,=" 就是那些不許踩珊瑚, 不許采珊瑚之類的=,=" 不過, 對於第一次前往海島的遊客, 這些都是必須知道的^^" 把行李丟在房間裡, 我們就到處趴趴走~ 白色的沙灘, 藍的天, 白的雲, 藍的海... 小昇不斷發出: "哇~ 好靚~ 天啊~ 好美喔~" <-- 不絕於耳 ^^"

This is one of my favourite view for this resort, Laguna Redang. =,=" Too bad I wasn't staying there, coz it was too costly. I just wished that I am a millionaire.

I think most of you had watched the Hong Kong movie - Summer Holiday featuring Richie Ren and Sammi Cheng. This is a small convinient store re-builded exactly the same like what it was in the movie right beside the original location. Why was it relocated? O... Coz they actually built the whole Laguna Redang Resort on the original location. ^^"

也許大家都看過了這一部電影 - 夏日摩摩茶. 這一部電影中的小酒店也就是跟這一棟建築物一模一樣的. 只不過原本是這棟建築物的原地, 已經改建成了之前說過的度假村.

I had actually posted the activities after lunch in Jesson's trip to the middle of the sea. So I won't be repeating the same topic here. Though it was in chinese, but I will try to translate all those into english asap. ^^" (If there is any request do let me know) After the trip into the middle of the sea. We didn't go back to sleep =,=" We continue swimming, and I did a lot of photo taking.

其實關於午餐後的活動, 我已經在小昇出海記寫過了. 所以不會再次重播@@" 接下來的都是之前沒寫過的一些東西. ^^"

Second day, we left Redang, and drove all the way to Kuantan after a lunch break at Kuala Terengganu. Kuantan? I really don't know where to bring him to... So, I actually let those ladies to take care of him for me. hahaha~ (to be continue)

第二天, 我們離開了樂浪島. 在瓜拉登嘉樓吃了午餐後, 直接驅車前往關丹. 在關丹該帶他去那裡玩? 我可不知道捏, 只好把他交給圖中的美女們"照顧"了... 哈哈~ (待續)

依依不捨 It’s hard to say goodbye…

It bacame a habit to just go to my old blog address... I don't know how long I can sustain this... sigh... Just went to check top growing blogs for traditional chinese fonts in wordpress... I am no. 47... It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday...

沒想到的是, 雖然狠下心腸搬家了... 但是, 還是依依不捨, 肝腸欲斷... 順便也跑去看看wordpress繁體中文部落的排行榜... 驚見自己的部落榜上有名...

小昇游馬記 - 最長的車程 Jesson’s trip to Malaysia - Longest car ride

Waked up in the morning, still blur @@" I can't decide what's for brunch(breakfast+lunch), so I called Olivia as what she mentioned last night about the Ampang Yong Tau Fu near her place. So, after a short conversation asking about how to get there. We drove all the way just to try that out. Too bad, it's just normal Yong Tau Fu =,=" Nothing much special... Anyway, we were hungry, so basicly everything ended up in our stomach. =,="

睡醒後, 真的拿不定主意該去吃些啥... 想起昨晚跟Olivia談起的安邦釀豆腐. 據說在她家附近開了家分行... 乾脆打個電話邀她一起進餐了. 吃了過後, 沒啥特別, 湯有點咸... =,=' 不過, 全部都祭了五臟廟... 肚子餓咩 =,='

After that, we are on the journey to Kuala Terengganu. On the way, he saw something new and snap this... Hahaha... It's a dummy waving red flags... According to him, there is no such thing in Hong Kong.

吃飽後, 繼續開車前往瓜拉登嘉樓. 路途中, 看到了人偶揮紅旗... @@" 據他的說法呢, 在香港從來沒有這樣的東西. 哈哈...

On the way, we stop for a few times(toilet break, tea break etc...) O.. during the tea break(Kuantan), I let him tried mee siam and teh tarik. He is OK with the teh tarik, but samething happens again. One bite at the mee siam he started drinking like mad man... =,=" According to him it's very very spicy. @@" So, we carried on our journey until we reached Awana Kijal. Coz, we were in the vehicle for the passed 4 & half hours. It's really time to let him have a look at something else other than our local roads side scene =,=".

半路上, 我們停車好幾次(上廁所, 喝杯茶等等...) 對了, 下午茶的時候, 我讓小昇試吃本地的mee siam(馬來式炒米粉)還有本地的拉茶. 拉茶基本上對他來說沒有問題. 只是那米粉他吃了一小口後, 又是拼命灌水... 對他來說還是太辣了... @@" 然後就是繼續路程直到Awana Kijal. 今天幾乎一睡醒, 我們倆就一直呆在車內(四小時半左右)... 所以, 是時候讓小昇透一透氣...

Well, it's not everyday for Jesson to be able to goto the beach. So, I brought him to the resort's beach. So, at least he knows that here... People go swimming with cloths on =,=" It's almost 7pm in the eveining. We are at east coast, so don't expect any good pictures for sunset. @@"

難得帶著小昇來到海邊, 對他來說, 去海邊是很難得的事情. @@" 雖然說, 這個沙灘也不怎麼樣 =,=" 至少我讓他知道, 在本地是有很多人穿衣服去海邊游泳+玩水滴... =,=" 喔, 別抱怨照片不美麗, 因為我們身在東海岸, 是沒有漂亮的夕陽滴....

We spent about half-an hour walking around the resort. Not gonna stay here anyway... Coz we are going to Redang Island tomorrow. hehe... So, it's just normal "see see look look" only.

我們在這裡走馬看花了大概半小時. 為啥不在這裡住一夜呢? 因為明天我們將會前往樂浪島 ^^"

Part of the lobby, actually it's not bad to stay there. But if you are asking about the sea and the beach. I would say it ain't good enough.. ^^"

這是酒店大廳的一角, 其實這家酒店真的不錯. 只是講到沙灘跟海洋, 還不夠好. ^^"

After that, I brought him for a quick dinner at Koh Hiong Seafood Restaurant, Paka. I ordered something simple. Just a plate of vege and a plate of black sauce pork. It's nice though... ^^" This place is one of my favourite stop during my journey back to Terengganu. ^^"

過後, 我帶他去到北加的一間餐廳, 故鄉海鮮飯店. 這是我常去的店, 因為價錢公道, 食物又合口味. ^^" 我點了一牒清炒蔬菜另外多一個黑醬油豬肉 ^^" 簡單得來又好吃...

Finally, we arrived at Kuala Terengganu around 9pm. After a short break at my home. I brought him out to the floating mosque to take a few shots. And of course, I did bring him around town to tell him some stories about Terengganu. (to be continue)

最後, 我們總算在晚上九點抵達目的地. 在帶小昇回家洗澡後, 我帶他到比較特別的水上回教堂拍夜景. 當然, 免不了也帶他到處游車河, 順便介紹一下本地的一些事情. (待續)

On the day itself.... I rushed out from the house... Drove all the way to East Coast Mall, all the way up to the roof top car park. Trying to get a good shot at the night scene for this remarkable moment. And guess what... TaDaAAAA~ there is no difference at all =,=" Totally dissapointed...
